Sophia found a little dragon beside the garden gate. "I'm Luma," it said. "My home is over there." Beyond the roses, a cloud bridge had a gap right in the middle. Sophia looked at the gap. "Let's see what we can try."
Luma took a huge breath and blew. The loose clouds scattered like dandelion fluff. "Oh," said Luma. Its wings drooped. Sophia sat beside it. "That made them go farther away. Maybe we need something smaller."
Morning mist gathered along the rose leaves. Tiny cloudy curls met at the edges. Sophia watched without touching. "Look. Those little pieces are finding each other." She lifted the ribbon from her pocket. It floated gently toward the broken bridge.
Sophia rang the garden wind chime. Two sky swallows swooped down. "Could you help us guide the mist?" They flew in slow circles. Luma spread its wings softly. Little by little, a pale path gathered in the air.
A sudden gust broke the new cloud apart. Sophia stepped back onto the wide stone terrace. "Not yet," she said. Luma waited beside her. They watched the ribbon until it stopped snapping and began to float again.
"A small breath," Sophia suggested. Luma breathed as gently as if it were cooling soup. The swallows circled. Sophia held the ribbon where everyone could see it. One soft cloud met another. This time, they stayed together.
Luma tested the magical bridge with one small foot. It held. Then two feet. Then four. "Come and see my garden," Luma said. Sophia took a careful step beside her friend. Above them, the swallows drew circles in the blue.
Later, Luma brought Sophia home before the garden shadows grew long. She tied the golden ribbon beside the wind chime. It stirred in a small, kind breeze. "Next time," said Luma, "I'll try a little breath first." Sophia smiled. "And I'll bring another idea."
