How to make an animated short with AI

Making an animated short with AI means describing the story you want, then letting the tool write the script, design the cast and sets, board every shot and animate them while you steer. This walkthrough shows the whole thing being made in ReadKidz, in four short parts — watch it all or just the part you are stuck on.

Part 1

Write the story

Type one sentence, watch Pudding write a three-act script, then ask for any change you want.

Read the steps
  1. Type your idea Animation starts the same way a story does. Type your idea — one sentence is enough — or paste a script you already have.
  2. Options are optional Choose how long the film runs, what kind of story it is, and who it is for. All of it is optional; Auto picks sensibly. Then press send.
  3. Pudding writes the script A real three-act script comes first, before any picture is made. It takes a few minutes, and nothing is charged for it.
  4. Read the script desk Your script arrives laid out: the world on one side, your cast and every scene in order beside it.
  5. Ask for a change Want it different? Say so in your own words — ask for a warmer ending and only that part gets rewritten.

Part 2

Choose the look

Pick one art style for the whole film, then see the entire story sketched as nine frames — free, before anything is charged.

Part 3

Cast and frames

Your characters and locations get their look, then the script becomes a storyboard — one frame per shot.

  2. The storyboard Your script becomes a storyboard: one frame per shot, in order. This is where the film stops being words and starts being pictures.

Make it move

Every storyboard frame becomes a moving clip, and the finished short is ready to watch and share.
