AI Children's Book Illustrator

An AI children's book illustrator turns a written story into finished picture-book art. ReadKidz reads your text, designs each character once, and keeps them recognizable on every page — so an author with a manuscript gets one coherent illustrated book, not a folder of mismatched images.

How it works

  1. 1
    Bring your story

Paste the story you've already written — ReadKidz can keep your text word-for-word and plan one illustration for each page, or help you shape the text first if it's still a draft.

  2. 2
    Approve your characters once

The illustrator reads your story, proposes each character's look, and locks it in. That single design is what keeps your hero recognizable from the first page to the last.

  3. 3
Illustrate every page in one style

Pick an art style and the book is illustrated page by page — same characters, same palette, same world. Swap any single picture you don't love without redrawing the rest.

Frequently asked questions

Will my characters look the same on every page?

Yes — that's the point of the system. Each character is designed once and reused as the reference for every illustration, so the bear on page 12 is the same bear from page 1. Authors name this as the hardest part of illustrating with generic AI image tools; here it's the default.

Can I use the story I've already written?

Yes. Paste your text and ReadKidz can keep it word-for-word, splitting it into pages and illustrating each one. Your words stay yours — the AI handles the pictures, not a rewrite.

Can I publish or sell the illustrated book?

Yes. Under the ReadKidz Terms of Service, the work you create is assigned to you and exports carry no watermark, so you can use it personally or commercially — including print runs and self-publishing.

How is this different from hiring an illustrator?

A commissioned picture book typically takes months and a significant budget. ReadKidz illustrates a full book in one sitting, shows you the cost before anything is charged, and lets you redo individual pictures until they feel right. For many self-publishing authors it's a first full-book draft; some use it as the finished art.
